Reclaimed/Old Growth Floors
These pictures are of a few different projects using similar material. The material is reclaimed/harvested from old buildings or old growth trees that have naturally fallen to the ground. This material can still have saw marks in the wood, nail holes, knot holes, a wide variety in the grain due to using the whole tree. It also comes in variety of widths from 3-6 inch to 4-8 inch combinations to all the same size and wider widths as well. Finishing these floors can be very different and challenging. Sanding can vary from traditional smooth and flat to just a quick buff leaving the rough look and all in between. Using finishes from oil based polyurethane to hardwax oils. The end result is a unique and one of a kind floor.
